When you have hair extensions, you can treat and style your hair just as you would normally.

You can:

• brush your hair
• curl/flat iron it
• wash it
• blow dry it
• use any styling products.

There are a few adjustments that you would make to your routine, but generally, hair extensions are like your real hair since they are 100% real virgin human hair.

Styling

You can style your hair as usual.

Using curling irons and flat irons is also acceptable. Any styling product is fine since I use human hair, it can be treated as if it is your own.

I recommend you get an extension brush and keeping your hair as tangle free as possible. When you sleep, wear your hair in a low ponytail.

It is recommended that you use Purology shampoo and conditioner. This is specially formulated for hair with hair extensions and treats it gently but effectively. It will also help maintain your style, sheen and color, if any, in your hair.

It is also acceptable to use a leave-in conditioner to keep your hair soft and moist.

Coloring

Do not color or highlight your hair extensions or have any one else color or highlight your hair.

This can be done when the extensions are not in your hair. The hair extensions can then be perfectly color matched to your hair.

The reason for doing it this way is because the hair extensions are hair that is not naturally yours. There is no way to determine if the extensions will process the color differently from the rest of your hair. If it does, you may end up with an uneven color job.
